This teaser is a shorter version (usually, no more than 250words) of your main book description. This teaser catches the readers\u2019 attention and entices them to learn more or to buy the book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These teasers also work great on your website, either as a section where the reader can click to read more, or at the top of the book\u2019s page (before the more detailed description\/back-liner, reviews, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So how do you write a great, attention-grabbing teaser?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tips on How to Write a Book Teaser<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Write about the plot<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. A book teaser should tell briefly the plot of that book. It\u2019s written on the back cover. A professional book cover design<\/strong><\/a> will add more to the blurb.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The main character should be introduced, the situation they are in & the problem they are facing should be told. A twist will be a good idea. In case of self-help books, the reader should be the main character and teaser should include a proposed solution to the reader\u2019s problems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Don\u2019t spoil the ending of your novel by revealing how it got resolved. Instead, end your teaser in a cliff-hanger ending. (DON\u2019T give everything away in your full description).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Include quotes about the book only after the description of the plot is written. If you do use a review snippet at the end, make sure it\u2019s from an important source.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Write a book teaser using the main character<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Your book teaser should be about the main character of the story, not about people in the story in general or about a group of people. Readers relate more to individuals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Use the main character\u2019s name in your teaser (for self-help books, the main character\u2019s name is \u201cYou\u201d).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      3. If your main character faces many problems, choose one or two that are the biggest problems he or she faces to include in your teaser.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
